Privacy Policy

Romance AI ("we", "our" or "us") is a mobile app that helps you with your dating conversations. This Privacy Policy explains what the app collects, why, who processes it and how you can delete it. Please read it before using the app. If you do not agree with it, do not use the app.

1. Your account

You do not create an account with a name, email address or password. When you first open the app, Firebase Authentication creates an anonymous account for you, identified only by a random user ID ("uid"). Everything you save in the app is attached to that uid. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or contacts.

Because the account is anonymous, it lives on the device where it was created. If you uninstall the app or switch devices, your conversations and remaining credits cannot be recovered.

2. What you upload and what we store

The app only receives the content you choose to give it. Depending on the feature you use, this can be:

  • Chat screenshots of a conversation (Reply Generator, Conversation Analyzer).
  • Pasted conversation text you type or paste into the app.
  • WhatsApp chat exports (the text file exported from WhatsApp).
  • Photos you upload to get pickup lines.
  • Free-text details such as a city or area for date spots, an occasion, a budget, interests, or a description of the other person.
  • Reminders you create (title, date, notes).

Uploaded images and files are stored in Firebase Storage; conversations, AI results, reminders and your app profile (language, settings, credit balance) are stored in Firebase Firestore. Both are Google Cloud services. Only your uid can read your own data; other users cannot see it.

Conversation screenshots and exports also contain messages written by other people. You must only upload conversations you are a participant in, and you are responsible for the content of other people that you submit to the app. Do not upload conversations that you have no right to share.

3. How your content is processed

To generate a result, your content is sent from our servers (Google Cloud Functions) to the following processors, solely to produce the response you asked for:

  • Google Cloud Vision reads the text in the screenshots you upload (OCR).
  • DeepSeek, an AI language model provider, generates the reply, analysis, pickup lines, gift ideas or date spots. DeepSeek's servers may be located outside your country, so your content may be transferred internationally for this purpose.

We do not use your conversations, photos or results to train AI models. We do not sell your content. The processors above are bound by their own terms and privacy policies; we send them only what is needed for the request.

AI results are generated automatically and can be wrong or inappropriate. Always review a suggestion before you send it to anyone.

4. Third-party SDKs in the app

The app includes the following software from third parties. Each collects the technical data it needs for its purpose (for example device model, operating system version, app version, language, approximate country and crash traces), under its own privacy policy:

  • Firebase (Google) — Authentication (anonymous sign-in), Firestore and Storage (your data), Analytics (anonymous usage statistics) and Crashlytics (crash reports).
  • Mixpanel — product analytics (which features are used, how often), tied to an anonymous identifier, not to your name or email.
  • Google AdMob — advertisements shown to free users, including rewarded ads you can watch for credits. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to show and measure ads. On iOS, ads only use the identifier for tracking if you allow it in the App Tracking Transparency prompt; where required (for example in the EEA and UK), you are asked for consent before personalised ads are requested and you can change your choice in the app.
  • RevenueCat — in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat receives purchase receipts from the App Store or Google Play and your uid so that your credits and Pro status can be restored; it does not receive your card details.
  • OneSignal — push notifications (for example your romantic reminders), using a push token for your device.

5. Device identifiers and abuse prevention

New accounts receive free credits. To stop the same device from claiming them repeatedly, our servers record a one-way hash of a device identifier and the IP address of the request when free credits are granted or a rewarded ad is claimed. These records are kept in a server-side ledger together with the uid and the amount granted.

These abuse-prevention records are retained even after you delete your account, because deleting them would let the free allowance be claimed again. They are used only for fraud prevention and billing integrity and are not linked back to your conversations.

6. Data retention

  • Conversations, uploads, AI results and reminders are kept until you delete the conversation in the app or delete your account.
  • Your app profile and credit balance are kept until you delete your account.
  • Purchase records (RevenueCat, App Store, Google Play) are kept as long as required for billing, refunds and tax obligations.
  • Analytics and crash data are kept for the retention period of the respective provider.
  • Abuse-prevention records (Section 5) are retained after deletion.

7. Deleting your data

You can delete everything yourself, without contacting us: open Settings → Remove all data in the app. This permanently deletes your conversations and AI results, your uploaded screenshots and photos, your reminders, your app profile and your anonymous account. Any unused credits and Pro status attached to that account are lost. If Firebase cannot remove the account immediately, it is queued and removed by our servers within a few hours.

You can also delete a single conversation from the conversation list. If you have a question about your data or want to exercise a right under your local privacy law (access, correction, deletion, objection, portability), email us at the address below.

8. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on Google Cloud with access rules that limit every document and file to its owner. Model calls are made from our servers, so no API keys are shipped in the app. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your data has been exposed, contact us.

9. Children

Romance AI is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to use the app. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has used the app, contact us and we will delete the data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be announced in the app.
